Aluminum jacketing polykraft moisture barrier (PKMB) is made from aluminum alloy 1 series, 3 series etc., with the temper of O-H112. We also call it aluminum cladding/jacketing with polykraft moisture barrier. It’s yellow on the surface, and looks like a kraft paper. But it’s not a paper, it’s an aluminum product.

The process line of moisture barrier cladding
Actually, moisture barrier cladding is on the basis of aluminum coil with mill finish aluminum. Then, by roller coating and laminated process, it’s covered with kraft paper or ploysurlyn film.
What is poly coated paper?
The coating is a thin layer that is coated with a continuous film on the surface of the product through roller coating process. There are three types of coating material include gaseous, liquid or solid. We usually according to the type and state to spray them. Kraft paper is coated with PE, which has the advantages of non-toxicity, low cost and consumption.
It contains one layer of paper include laminated polyethylene on it. This vapor absorption layer is laminated on aluminum sheet to decrease corrosion.

Aluminium roll jacketing is available in a smooth surface or a stucco embossed surface.
Smooth surface: The surface on the aluminum jacketing with polykraft without any embossing process. It’s very popular in the aluminum material markets for many owners. This smooth surface can shed rain easily and show damage clearly. When it’s dirty, we can see the unclear surface easier than other finishes. The smooth aluminum with polykraft moisture barrier finish is highly reflective of sunlight specially, when compared with embossed surface.
