The Difference Between Hot Rolled Aluminum Sheet And Cold Rolled Aluminum Sheet
Hot rolling generally refers to rolling at temperatures above the crystallization temperature of the metal. Compared with general cast-rolled products, hot-rolled aluminum sheet not only ensures good surface quality, but also has strong ductility and mechanical properties. In addition, the oxidation effect is also very good. Hot-rolled aluminum sheets are widely used in curtain wall panels, automobiles, ships, silos, stamping, molds and other fields.
The difference between hot-rolled aluminum sheet and cold-rolled aluminum sheet (also called cast-rolled aluminum sheet)
1. Price
Cold-rolled aluminum sheet is easy to process and cheaper than hot-rolled aluminum sheet. Because hot-rolled aluminum sheets need to be hot-rolled, the process requirements and costs are higher, and the price will be higher accordingly.
2. Differences in blank supply
The raw material supply process of hot-rolled aluminum plate is generally: aluminum ingot→smelting and casting into flat ingot→milling surface→uniform annealing→hot rolling into strip.
The raw material supply process of cold-rolled aluminum plate is generally: aluminum ingot→melting→rolling into strip by casting and rolling mill.
Comparing the billet supply process of the two shows that the casting production efficiency of cold-rolled aluminum sheet is relatively high. However, the problems of compositional deviation and inclusion of impurities in cold-rolled aluminum sheet blanks are difficult to solve. Therefore, from the perspective of overall quality, cold-rolled billets are not as good as hot-rolled billets.
3. Different production process
The cold-rolled aluminum plate is first processed by the casting machine into a cast-rolled coil, and then processed by the cold rolling machine, while the hot-rolled aluminum plate is made of an aluminum ingot (400-500mm thick) heated at a high temperature, and then rolled by a hot rolling mill. .
4. Different performance
The hot-rolled aluminum plate has good surface quality after high-temperature treatment, and has strong ductility and mechanical properties.
5. Different uses
Cold-rolled aluminum sheets are mostly used in the field of molds, while hot-rolled aluminum sheets are suitable for high-strength work such as stamping and drawing.
6. Finished product difference
Cold-rolled products generally have lower elongation than hot-rolled products.
